On The Trail. One Day. 17 Hours. Eight Counties.
Sunday, October 26th, 2008Sharen’s eight county tour ….
Sharen’s eight county tour ….
Steve Austria’s staff and “volunteers” showed up at the Lancaster stop on Sharen’s 8 county listening tour to disrupt the conversation.  They’re standing out on the street in front of Annies Cheesecake and Tea Room waving signs, and encouraging people to honk.  They’ve even sent a tracker - a kid with a video camera - to tape Sharen.  Well, really to try to intimidate her. Â
Steve, you should really know better. Â Sharen’s not going to be intimidated by cheap tricks any more than the voters of the 7th district are going to be tricked by your 10 years of filling a chair in Columbus. Â You’re part of the problem, and your time is up.
UPDATE:
Sharen held a press conference with Sen. Sherrod Brown, Ohio Democratic Party Chairman Chris Redfern, and workers who’ve lost their jobs to talk about the jobs crisis Ohio’s seen under 10 years of Republican leadership - and under Steve Austria’s tenure in the Ohio legislature.

Here’s video of another beautiful weekend on the campaign trail in the 7th District.  Blogger Joe Ritchey, of Pickerington accompanied Sharen on parts of her travels this weekend.  You can read about his experiences on his blog, Fundamental Truths.
As promised, video of Sharen on the trail this weekend …
Sharen spent another busy day on the campaign trail today, meeting voters and talking to them about her plans to put us back on the right track. Â We’ll have video (maybe without last week’s technical difficulties) as soon as possible, but we figured you’d want the rundown now.
We started the day in Springfield, with Sharen and a group of dedicated volunteers knocking doors to help get her message out. Â
After a few hours of canvasing, it was off to North Hampton for the Clark County Democratic Party’s annual Truman Kennedy Picnic. Â Sharen spoke with a number of Clark County residents about the campaign, and everyone’s really very excited.
Leaving the T.K. Picnic, Sharen headed over to Circleville for the Pickaway County Democratic Party’s Hog Roast. Â The crowd at the cabin just east of Circleville was great and so was the hog - volunteers had been up all night tending the smoker. Â Sharen spoke the the crowd, as did Rich Cordray, Democratic candidate for Ohio Attorney General, Ray Pryor Democratic candidate for Ohio’s 85th House District.
Sharen then headed back to Springfield for the new Springfield High School Athletic teams introduction where she met local athletes, their parents and supporters. Â
Two counties. 189 Miles. 80 days left.
