Sharen campaigns with Gov. Ted Strickland, Sen. Sherrod Brown, and Congressman Tim Ryan on Saturday, September 20th, 2008.
Sharen on the trail this past weekend.  Took us all a little longer to put together … much of the 7th still doesn’t have electricity following Sunday’s storm.  If you can, please volunteer in your community.Â
Sharen was excited to pick up the endorsement of Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland today.
“Sharen Neuhardt understands that Ohioans are paying a heavy price for George W. Bush’s failures,” said Strickland. “We need a new generation of leaders who are willing to set politics aside to get things done. Sharen Neuhardt is the right voice for Ohio’s 7th District and the right leader to help bring about the change we need for Ohio’s future.”
Sharen and the staff suspended normal campaigning today to help clean up after Sunday’s destructive windstorm.
Yesterday, Sharen spoke up on her plan to help cut gas prices for working Ohioans.  This afternoon, one of the dedicated volunteers traveling with Sharen today just called to let us know that gas in the Circleville area climbed to $3.999 a gallon.Â
It’s definitely time for a change.  In congress, Sharen will join other Democrats and Republicans to make sure we invest in safe and responsible domestic energy, and in new sources or energy that end our dependence on foreign oil, and don’t just line the pockets of Big Oil.
Sharen’s statement of remembrance:
“As we mark the seventh anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, we remember the thousands of innocent men, women, and children who lost their lives on that day, and we extend our sympathies to their families, friends, and loved ones.”
Sharen’s very excited to have been added the Democratic National Campaign Committee’s ‘Red to Blue’ program. Â
According to the DCCC:
The Red to Blue program highlights top Democratic campaigns across the country, and offers them financial, communications, and strategic support. The program introduces Democratic supporters to new, competitive candidates in order to help expand the fundraising base for their campaigns.
Red to Blue was a proven success in the 2006 cycle. In 2006, the Red to Blue program raised nearly $22.6 million for 56 campaigns averaging $404,000 per campaign. Red to Blue was also responsible for solidifying the structure of dozens of campaigns and making a real difference for Democrats across America.
Here’s video of another beautiful weekend on the campaign trail in the 7th District.  Blogger Joe Ritchey, of Pickerington accompanied Sharen on parts of her travels this weekend.  You can read about his experiences on his blog, Fundamental Truths.
